Educate a child and change the world!

A young population is rising, and they will have to solve some of the greatest challenges of the future, but the sad reality is that a significant number of them cannot even read or write.”
The road to a better future for these disadvantaged groups begins with all of us. Starting with one change at a time, your donations will make a big difference.

About The Ziana Project

The Ziana Education Project is an initiative designed to
provide disadvantaged, less-privileged young learners—particularly those affected by the insurgency in northeastern Nigeria—the opportunity to advance their education by providing them with quality learning resources.

Over the past 10 years, the Boko Haram insurgency has ravaged the northeastern region of the country resulting in a surge in the illiteracy levels in the affected communities and states. With millions of people displaced, thousands of lives lost and hundreds of communities destroyed, a large proportion of interventions by humanitarian and government agencies have focused on providing victims with the basic necessities of life such as food, shelter, and clothing, relegating the need for acquiring education to a secondary or even tertiary role in some communities and displaced people's camps.

Education is the basic tool for the development of consciousness and the reconstruction of society

Our Impact so far ...
As the world celebrated another International Literacy Day on September 08, 2020, we were able to launch the Ziana Education Project in collaboration with Zainab Titus, who was awarded the Imperial College Professional Project Fund to initiate, develop and execute this project. The project has given us the opportunity to impact the lives of young learners in some of the most deprived communities in Nigeria. With your donations, we were able to provide hundreds of books and a mobile library to complement the makeshift educational facilities in Shuwari internally displaced people’s camp in Maiduguri, Borno State, which has been the epicenter of the insurgency.
The journey to the future we want has begun. We have started rewriting the stories of disadvantaged young learners in northeastern Nigeria. We have delivered the first-ever mobile library for children affected by the insurgency in northeastern Nigeria. The library operates in Shuwari internally displaced people's camp and neighbouring camps in Maiduguri, Borno State.

Since September 2020, the Ziana Project has helped to provide access to learning resources to advance the education of young learners affected by the insurgency through the mobile library initiative.
